Elementary school teacher arrested on charge of having sex with student

Metro Police arrested an elementary school teacher Wednesday on allegations he had sex with a female student.

John Sinchak, 34, was booked into the Clark County jail Wednesday night on three counts of sexual assault with a victim under the age of 14 -- a felony with the possible punishment of life in prison, Metro Police said.

Sinchak is accused of using his authority and position to seduce the girl into a sexual relationship with him. The girl, whose age was not released, was a student at Garehime Elementary School, but was not in Sinchak's combined fourth/fifth grade class, police said.

He is accused of having sexual contact with the girl at his home, police said.
