ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Gaming Commission has fined a St. Louis-area casino $250,000 for contracting with a company whose investors included convicted criminals.
Argosy's problems stem from a contract it had with Nii-Jii Entertainment, a Chicago company founded by former Congressman Morgan Murphy Jr. The contract involved a failed bid to build a Wisconsin casino. At issue were Murphy's ties to a Chicago labor leader with mob connections.
Argosy disassociated itself from the contractor a year ago.
