Flood control reminder available

Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002 | 8:39 a.m.

The Clark County Regional Flood Control District has created a new computer screen saver that reminds motorists about the dangers of flash flooding. The free program uses the district's billboard campaign and other artwork to drive home the message of flood safety.

When accessing the home page (www.ccrfcd.org), visitors to the site will see an icon titled "Click here to download the District's screen saver." Instructions will prompt the user to save the file to his/her computer. After it is downloaded, double-click the file to install it.

To date, 53 detention basins and 280 miles of channels and underground storm drains are in place helping to protect the community from floodwater.

Since 1986 millions of dollars have been spent on flood control improvements throughout Clark County. For more information, call 455-3139.
