Las Vegas FBI agents have arrested a Washington, D.C., man after he allegedly had sexually explicit e-mail conversations with an FBI agent posing as a 14-year-old girl and arranged to meet the "girl" at a local casino.
Danai Young, 32, was arrested Thursday afternoon when he went to a prearranged meeting point with the person he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Instead FBI agents took Young into custody and charged him with interstate travel with intent to have sex with a juvenile and enticement.
An FBI agent posed as a 14-year-old on an Internet chat site, where Young allegedly made contact and a series of conversations ensued. During the course of the conversations the FBI agent sent Young pictures of a local corrections officer at age 14.
The allegations are similar to those in an earlier case this year in which FBI agents arrested a Florida man for traveling to Las Vegas in order to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. That "girl" was also an FBI agent running an undercover operation on a chat site.
James Allen Jahner Jr., 44, was arrested in April after traveling to Las Vegas to meet a 14-year-old girl at a casino. In June a federal jury found Jahner guilty of using the Internet to try to lure the girl into sex.
Jahner is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 4 and could face 30 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
