Friday, Aug. 23, 2002 | 11:20 a.m.

The Summerlin master-planned community in Las Vegas on Thursday announced plans for the next two villages, adding as many as 3,300 new homes.

The Paseos is planned along Desert Foothills Drive between Charleston Boulevard and Far Hills Avenue. The 375-acre village will have 14 residential parcels, an elementary school site, two worship sites, a park and a trail system.

The Mesa, near Russell Road and Hualapai and nestled against a scenic ridgeline, will include 16 residential parcels within its 497 acres. It will have an elementary school site, a private high school, two worship sites, a small commercial component and two parks.

A spokeswoman said the Paseos would have between 1,100 and 1,400 new homes while the Mesa would have between 1,500 and 1,900 homes.

Home sales for both villages will begin in 2004.

Summerlin is being developed by the Howard Hughes Corp., part of The Rouse Co.
