Patricia Deaderick

Patricia Deaderick, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1934, in North Dakota. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James Jr.

Burial will be in California. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Willie James Hawkins

Willie James Hawkins, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 51 years, he was a hotel cook.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Hawkins of Las Vegas and Stevie Hawkins of Texarkana, Ark.; one daughter, Carman Burney of Las Vegas; his mother Rosie Hawkins; one brother, Clarence Hawkins, and three sisters, Essie Walker, Bessie Coffield and Verlie Ross, all of Las Vegas; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Evelyn Marie MacKenzie

Evelyn Marie MacKenzie, 96, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 9, 1906, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 50 years, she was a secretary in the automotive business.

She is survived by two nephews, John Roeder and James Roeder, both of Pocatello, Idaho.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Melvin 'Bob' Merket

Melvin 'Bob' Merket, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Los Angeles. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired newspaper distributor and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three sons, Mike Merket of Vernal, Utah, and Steve Merket and Jeff Merket, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Otto Merket of Cypress, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in the LDS Buffalo Ward, 3300 N. Buffalo Drive. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to Opportunity Village, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.

Edward Oscar Merrill

Edward Oscar Merrill, 81, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born June 1, 1921, in Pennsylvania. A resident for six years, he was a retired major and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a Shriner and a member of Masonic Lodge 860.

He is survived by his wife, Hildegard; one son, David Merrill of Las Vegas; three daughters, Drew Handlon of Georgia and Heidi Hernandez and Frances Livezey, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Aiko Jane Miyamoto

Aiko Jane Miyamoto, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 10, 1932, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and a volunteer at St. Rose Dominican Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Shiro Tom.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Mary Curtis Rathjens

Mary Curtis Rathjens, 55, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local health care facility. She was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Chicago. She was a dealer.

She is survived by her husband, Fritz; two sons, Matthew Curtis and Alexander Rathjens; and her mother, Frances Nunnally of Henderson.

Services will be 3-5 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road.

Farid Issa Sayegh

Farid Issa Sayegh, 55, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 3, 1947, in Jordan. A resident for 26 years, he was a hotel supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Mona; one son, Rajayee Sayegh of Henderson; four daughters, Dianne Hawatmeh of Salt Lake City and Deena Sayegh, Reem Sayegh, and Lisa Sayegh, all of Henderson; his parents, Issa and Wedad Sayegh and four brothers, Sami Sayegh, Samir Sayegh, Manny Sayegh and Jareese Sayegh, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Samira Sayegh of Jordan.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Dennis Shuteroff

Dennis Shuteroff, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1946.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, is handling arrangements.

Thomas L. Smith

Thomas L. Smith, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born June 14, 1923, in Denver. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C.; two daughters, Marsha Ann Fricks of Carmichael, Calif., and Donna Louise Evatz of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Merle K. Terry

Merle K. Terry, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Provo, Utah. She was born April 1, 1913, in Taylorsville, Utah. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Terry of Provo and Lewis Terry of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Curtis A. Tidwell

Curtis A. Tidwell, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local health care facility. He was born April 11, 1938, in Hickman County, Tenn. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired manufacturing general manager.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley I.; five sons, Steve Tidwell of Tampa, Fla., and Jerry Tull and Tom Tull, both of Henderson, and John Tull and Jamie Tull, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Denise Smerek of South Lake, Texas, and Pam Cammuse of Brentwood, Tenn.; three brothers, Bill Tidwell of Dickson, Tenn., and Wayne Tidwell and Tony Tidwell, both of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; and two sisters, Bertha Tidwell and Florence Hulan, both of Bon Aqua; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today with a 6:30 rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be noon Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park-Henderson.

Donald S. Zaron

Donald S. Zaron, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Detroit. A resident for 40 years, he was a craps dealer and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; one son, Allen Zaron of Hawaii; two daughters, Helene Zaron and Jackie Franchino, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Corky Zaron of Michigan; three sisters, Sue and Lisa, both of Michigan, and Arleen Sampson of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Burial will be private. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
