Kids will get back-to-school help
St. Rose Dominican Hospital, HACA, the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs and Giving Life Ministries are working with parents, schools and local businesses on the Henderson Back-2-School celebration from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at Robert Taylor Elementary School, 400 McNeil Drive, Henderson.
The project will help equip 500 children whose families have demonstrated economic need with school supplies, backpacks and new clothes for the school year.
The event will also offer entertainment and other services open to all Henderson residents, including immunizations by the Clark County Health District, vision and hearing screens by Clinic on Wheels, and on-site application processing for Nevada Check-Up insurance for children.

NLV to host school fair
The fourth annual North Las Vegas Back to School Health/Educational Fair will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Community College of Southern Nevada, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.
The event will feature free entertainment; a talent showcase; heath checks; immunizations from 10 a.m. until noon (bring shot records); youth physicals, from noon until 2 p.m.; dental checks; haircuts; mammograms (call for an appointment to (877) 581-6266); motivational speaker Rudy Ruettiger; educational programs; voter registration; Classroom on Wheels; Computer on Wheels, and Clinic on Wheels.
There will also be free school supplies (while supplies last), face painting, tattoos, displays, a drawing, and food and beverages.
Women-owned businesses sought
Women who own small businesses will have the opportunity to learn how to do business with the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Operations Office from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at NNSA's support facility, 232 Energy Way, North Las Vegas.
Women-owned small businesses with the following or similar disciplines are invited to attend: management and technical support services; information technology; administrative support services; construction; housing maintenance or general/repair maintenance; janitorial services; medical equipment, A/V equipment, or office supplies and equipment; quality assurance support services; independent scientific investigations; training (human resources related); architectural and design.
