The Clark County Commissions approved a land-use permit for a new high school at Oquendo and Pecos roads Wednesday.
The permit allows 191,000 square feet of buildings and other uses, including football, baseball, softball and soccer fields, at the site.
Residents concerned about traffic in the area asked for, and received, commissioners' direction that Oquendo be blocked off from through traffic at McLeod Drive, on the northwest corner of the property.
