Anti-auto theft program planned
Car owners can learn how to protect their cars at an Auto Theft Prevention Day from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the Boulevard mall, 3528 S. Maryland Parkway.
Free VIN etching and enrollment in the "Watch Your Car" program will be featured.
Volunteers will use special kits to etch small Vehicle Identification Numbers onto automobile windows provided for free at the event.
Registration nears for youth soccer
Mail-in registration dates for Henderson Parks and Recreation Department's youth soccer league are Monday through Aug. 31.
Drop-off registration will be accepted Sept. 2 through Sept. 5, and walk-in registration will be accepted at player rating days (Sept. 7 and Sept. 9) if space is available.
Participation is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grades. Registration is $30 per player, $25 per player for two siblings, and $20 per player for three or more siblings.

Shoot-Out benefits Make-A-Wish
The Las Vegas Founders Shoot-Out to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada will be played Monday at TPC at Summerlin.
The tournament will feature a format similar to the PGA tournament in Las Vegas, with amateurs playing with professionals.

Christ Church Episcopal,
2000 S. Maryland Parkway is recruiting for a second choir at 7:30 p.m. Mondays. The goal of the new choir is to offer music in a liturgical setting for the early service. Also the new choir is seeking donations for new choir robes. To register, call 735-7655.
The International House of Blues Foundation
will hold an open house at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mandalay Bay, to hear plans on enlarging the musical instrument donation program, the classroom art supply collection, the college scholarship fund, becoming an art tour guide and ways to serve on the myriad of committees being organized.
