Second-quarter loss reported

Casino Journal Publishing Group reported a $70,523 profit, or 1 cent per share, for the second quarter ended June 30 due to cost-cutting measures and the sale of Poker Digest magazine.

For the second quarter, the Las Vegas-based company reported a 17 percent decline in revenues from the same period a year-ago and a loss from continuing operations of $76,460, compared to a loss of $57,905 in the year-ago second quarter. Casino Journal Publishing sold Poker Digest magazine to Shulman Media LLC on June 28 for $302,719.
