Incumbent Democrat Bob Coffin faces no challenges in the primary, but Republican Daniel Guinn is waiting for him in November.
Coffin, 59, is an antiquarian book dealer and insurance broker who has been in the state Senate for 10 sessions. He is also a former assemblyman.
Guinn, 66, is a buyer for the Community College of Southern Nevada who cites education and senior issues as his top concerns. He is not related to Gov. Kenny Guinn.
