Chief executive to step down

Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 | 11:22 a.m.

Casino gaming supplier Mikohn Gaming Corp. of Las Vegas announced Wednesday that Chief Executive Officer David J. Thompson will resign on Friday. He will, however, continue in his role as chairman of the board of directors.

Russ McKeekin, who recently joined the Las Vegas-based company as president, will assume the duties of chief executive officer. He will report directly to the executive committee of the board of directors.

"The past 14 years as CEO of Mikohn have been both exciting and rewarding," Thompson said. "Over the past several years, we have transformed Mikohn from a durable goods manufacturer to a recurring revenue company. We need to continue to move forward and I believe that Russ is the person to do that."
