Assembly District 4

Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 | 8:07 a.m.

Two-term Assemblyman Bob Beers, a Republican, has no primary opponent in his efforts to seek re-election in District 4.

Beers will face Democrat Howard Wade Bycroft in November for the district that includes Sun City Summerlin and portions of northwest Las Vegas.

Beers, 42, is a computer programmer and small-business owner who was first elected in 1998. He was an avid supporter of tort reform during the recent special session and served on the Select Committee on Medical Malpractice during that session.

Bycroft, 31, is a Green Valley High School history teacher who makes education his top priority. He seeks alternative revenue sources to help schools; tort reform and exploration of alternative energies.
