Bob Price, a 14-term Democratic assemblyman, faces a primary challenge from Clark County management analyst Kelvin Atkinson.

Republican Luis Valera, 28, a financial planner, awaits the winner in November.

Price, 66, is a retired electrician active in state legislators organizations. He is committed to proposing annual sessions of the Legislature and improving access to health care.

Atkinson, 33, serves a neighborhood liaison to Commission District G. His platform includes improving education, managing growth, prescription drugs for seniors and keeping doctors here.

Valera lists jobs, growth and education as his top concerns.
