Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002 | 11:03 a.m.

The Rouse Co., the Maryland-based real estate investment trust that owns the Fashion Show shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip, said it signed an $8.2 million contract with Georgia-based sign company BARCO to install display signs at the property.

Rita Brandin, vice president and development director for Rouse, called the video displays an important component in the company's 1 million-square-foot expansion of the shopping center.

BARCO will deliver a total of 4,300 square feet of video display screens both inside and outside the shopping center. The signs will be used for live broadcasts of fashion shows from around the world, product introductions and other promotions involving retailers at the Fashion Show.
