Karen Louise Arrison

Karen Louise Arrison, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Ware, Mass. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired inspector for an electronics manufacturer.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Vicki Lee Beaky of Las Vegas and Linda Ann Arrison of Aston, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private family services.

Doris J. Barnett

Doris J. Barnett, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 26, 1921, in Longmont, Colo. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired ticket agent.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; one son, Ronald Waters of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Washington state. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Barschdorf

Elizabeth "Betty" Barschdorf, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Barr and William David Barschdorf, both of Las Vegas; four brothers, Joseph, William, Robert and Angelo; six sisters, Geraldine, Lillian, Aurora, Alma, Ruth and Mary; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6000 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 9C, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Gladys L. Booker

Gladys L. Booker, 91, of Pahrump died Thursday in Pahrump. She was born July 11, 1911, in Kentucky. A resident for three years, she was a dietician at Sunrise Hospital.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Louis; and one granddaughter.

She is survived by one son, Ray Selasky of Pahrump; two daughters, Janice Hauk of California and Anna Jorgenson of Illinois; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, Pahrump, is handling arrangements.

Derrick C. Caldwell Sr.

Derrick C. Caldwell Sr., 44, of Las Vegas died July 31 in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was born July 3, 1958, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by one son, Derrick C. Caldwell Jr., and one daughter, Brittney Caldwell, both of San Diego; his mother, Barbara Caldwell of North Las Vegas; his stepmother, Thelma Simpson of Las Vegas; four brothers, Russell Caldwell of Apache Junction, Colo., and Maurice Caldwell, Dewayne Caldwell and Anthony Simpson, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Yvette King and Jaci Marion, both of Las Vegas, and Jeanene Hall of Palmdale, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Monday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

John Patrick Clarke

John Patrick Clarke, 45, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 7, 1957, in Chicago. A resident for 13 years, he was a casino pit boss.

Services were schedule at 1 p.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be private.

James A. Cotellesse

James A. Cotellesse, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 24, 1913, in Lanciano, Italy. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired aerospace engineer with 35 years at Lockheed Aircraft and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine A.; one stepson, Vincent Sgroi of Long Beach; two brothers, Nick Cotellesse of San Diego and Col. Peter Cotellesse of San Antonio; one sister, Rose Milantoni of Allen Park, Mich.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive.

The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities, 75 Kneeland St., Boston, MA 02111.

Fred Stanley Ferkanin

Fred Stanley Ferkanin, 72, of Las Vegas died Aug. 7 in Rochester. He was born June 15, 1930, in Rochester. A resident for 23 years, he was a retired truck driver for the union, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two sisters, Helen and Ann.

Jack Graves

Jack Graves, 55, of Las Vegas died July 17 in Las Vegas. He was born May 2, 1947.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Gerald E. Hansen

Gerald E. Hansen, 69, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born July 5, 1933, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 52 years, he was a retired firefighter, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Betty L.; one daughter, Linda McDonald of Medford, Ore.; two sons, Elmo L. Hansen of Las Vegas and Larry A. Bastanchury of Lake Tahoe; one brother, Fred J. Hansen of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until a 1 p.m. service Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Betty Hollingsworth

Betty Hollingsworth, 75, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born May 13, 1927, in St. Louis. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired cashier.

She is survived by one sister, Bernie Hollinsworth of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Felicia K. Johannessen

Felicia K. Johannessen, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 4, 1933, in Philadelphia. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker, an Army veteran and a member of the Society of Occupational Therapy.

She is survived by her husband, John M.; two daughters, Lisa Miller of Brentwood, Calif., and Lynn Johannessen of Las Vegas; one son, Mark Johannessen of Las Vegas; one sister, Antoinette Tomicki of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Alan Dennis Johnson

Alan Dennis Johnson, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Duck Creek, Utah. He was born March 31, 1941, in John Day, Ore. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired UNLV draftsman, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of Moose Lodge 1924.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; three sons, Alan Daniel, Paul Nichols and Earl Nichols; two daughters, Carla Jean and Anna; one brother, Butch Johnson; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in John Day. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Leonard McCord

Leonard McCord, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Nebraska. A resident for many years, he was a cook.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Edith A. Moore

Edith A. Moore, 97, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 23, 1905, in DeQueen, Ark. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired Oklahoma schoolteacher and a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by one son, Floyd Moore, and one daughter, Patricia Field, both of Nevada; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Private services and burial will be in Phoenix. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Arlene Pollack

Arlene Pollack, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born March 10, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Hadassah.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Miller of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Shirley Reed

Shirley Reed, 67, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 29, 1955, in Canada. A resident for 25 years, she was an office manager.

She is survived by her husband, Don; one daughter, Laurie Jann of California; two stepsons, Steven Reed and Michael Reed, and one stepdaughter, Carol Mirabito, all of Colorado; one sister, Helen Hindermeier of Ontario; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Larry R. Walter

Larry R. Walter, 54, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 2, 1947, in Gettysburg, Pa. A resident for one year, he was an electrical engineer and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy two daughters, Eva Pahl of Antioch, Calif., and Becky Walter of Las Vegas; one sister, Shelva Lynch of Villanova, Pa.; two brothers, Harold Walter of Carlisle, Pa., and Robert Walter of Gardners, Pa.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Manfred Fritz Rudolf Wilhelm

Manfred Fritz Rudolf Wilhelm, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 24, 1948, in Germany. A resident for 13 years, he was a painter.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two sons, Alex Wilhelm of San Anselmo, Calif., and Armin Wilhelm of Petaluma, Calif.; one stepson, Eric Shanley of Reno; three brothers, Diter Wilhelm, Fritz Wilhelm and Otto Wilhelm, all of Germany; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 5 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.
