NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE

Anglers using jigs and Kastmasters in deep water continue to have good success for striper throughout the Boulder Basin at Lake Mead.

33 Hole remains one of the hotspots for top-water action for stripers. Zara Spooks or Rattletraps work well.

Anglers are finding boils throughout the lake. Large schools of threadfin shad continue to attract stripers. Look for gulls and other fish-eating birds to pinpoints had locations.

Most anglers are fishing early and getting off the lake before the high daily temperatures arrive. Evening hours just before sunset are also productive.

However, fishing may be impacted if hot, dry weather persists and the bloom worsens.

Haymeadow anglers are catching bass 11 to 12 inches long and rainbows averaging 14 inches.

While Cold Springs reservoir doesn't have an algae problem, it does share the good fishing. Fish coming from Cold Springs tend to be a bit larger than thosefrom Haymeadow, with bass averaging 12 inches and trout 14 inches and up.
