Congressional candidate and County Commissioner Dario Herrera will deliver the Democratic radio response following President Bush's Saturday radio address.
Herrera will record the address this afternoon and is expected to touch on Social Security, the "sky high" cost of prescription drugs and the ongoing Yucca Mountain fight, said spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander.
Herrera is running against Republican former state Sen. Jon Porter for the newly created 3rd Congressional District seat.
Herrera's response will directly follow Bush's address at 8:06 Saturday morning. His response will be carried nationally by 12 radio networks. Excerpts of the address will also be carried on CNN Headline News and local radio stations KNUU 970-AM and KXNT 840-AM.
