Lena Aizenberg

Lena Aizenberg, 94, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 9, 1908, in San Francisco. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker, a member of ORT, Eastern Star and a lifetime member of Hadassah.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Aizenberg of Las Vegas; two daughters, Beverly Konkoff of Tiburon, Calif., and Carol Loew of Napa, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Burial will be in California. King David Memorial Chapel & Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

George E. Bajurin

George E. Bajurin, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Stockton, Calif. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired business manager and grand knight for the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara G.; five daughters, Beth of Salt Lake City, Laura, Andrea and Kate, all of Henderson, and Lisa of Larkspur, Calif.; one son, Tony of Las Vegas; his mother, Grace, one sister, Olive, and two brothers, Fred and Joseph, all of California; 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Yolanda H. Butera

Yolanda H. Butera, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a California hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1924, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, she was a retired utility lead foreman.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; one son, Michael Butera of Las Vegas; one brother; one sister, Carol Inendino of Santa Clarita, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Mary Jane Copeland

Mary Jane Copeland, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 19, 1923, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lee Moody, two sons, Joseph H. Copeland and James R. Copeland, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Bud Scott of Sarasota, Fla.; one sister, Ann Remmers of Midlothian, Va.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Philmena H. Garofalo

Philmena H. Garofalo, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 24, 1922, in New York. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; one son, Frank Garofalo, and one daughter, Joan Garofalo, both of California; and two sisters, Carmela Gallo of Las Vegas and Catherine Koppel of New York.

Services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Chapel followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.

William Hudson

William Hudson, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born March 25, 1915, in Paterson, N.J. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired newspaper printer.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna C.; four daughters, Carol McNeil of New Jersey, Barbara Potter of Florida, Charlotte Simonsen of Missouri and Lorraine Sweetman of Florida; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Marian Tam Iler

Marian Tam Iler, 88, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 8, 1914, in Hawaii. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Colvin K. Kong of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marian Iler Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Daisey Buell of Hawaii; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling private arrangements.

Brian Dean Jensen

Brian Dean Jensen, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Iowa. A resident for 12 1/2 years, he was a construction equipment operator.

He is survived by his mother, Phyliss Smith of Iowa; one son, Skyler Winquist of San Diego; two daughters, Chelsea Rae Jensen, and Megan Winquist, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Diane Jacobsen and Lisa Miller, both of Iowa; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, followed by private burial.

Jasper LaPuma

Jasper LaPuma, 56, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, he was a manager for United Gaming and a Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Donna M.; one son, Tony S. LaPuma of Sacramento; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Buford McCain

Buford McCain, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born July 2, 1916, in Iuka, Miss. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired heavy equipment machinist.

He is survived by two sons, Don McCain of Fairview, Ill., and Heber McCain of Vicksburg, Miss.; six daughters, Norma Hatch, Betty McCoy, and Reta Berry, all of Las Vegas, Nita Garrett of Memphis, Tenn., Patricia Crunk of Martinez, Ga., and Donna Hawkins of Carson City; one brother, Hubert McCain of Salt Lake City; one sister, Carmen Drysdale of Mesa, Ariz.; 45 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Lakes Stake Center, 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way, with services following. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Bonnie Merrill

Bonnie Merrill, 86, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Pleasant Hill, Mo. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired executive director of a nonprofit organization, past president of Day Timers, served on the board of the Henderson Salvation Army, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Sunrise Chapter 28 in Henderson, an honorary member of Beta Sigma Phi and a longtime volunteer at St. Rose Dominican Hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty J. Moore of Henderson; two sons, Sam Owen of Las Vegas and Tom Owen of Denver; one sister, Mary Callis of Sedalia, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

The family suggests donations to Henderson Presbyterian Church, 601 N. Major Ave., Henderson.

William E. Moon

William E. Moon, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 27, 1943, in Tipton, Ind. A resident for 18 months, he was a highway fence builder for the state of Indiana.

He is survived by one son, William E. Moon Jr. of Pennington Gap, W.Va.; one daughter, Lisa Stevens of Morristown, Tenn.; three brothers, Robert Moon of Las Vegas and Ray Moon and Tom Moon, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Rita Walker of New Haven, Ind., and Marilyn Moon of Ft. Wayne; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be held in Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St.

Jacqueline R. Morris

Jacqueline R. Morris, 39, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 29, 1963, in St. Joseph, La. A resident for 17 years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by her parents, Cleandrew Morris Sr. of Mississippi and Elnora and Joe White of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Cleandrew Morris Jr. of Arbor Hill, Mich., and Alex Morris of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Linda Morris-Hamilton of Tallulah, La., and Tony Morris and Debra Douglas, both of St. Joseph.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Grace Immanuel Baptist Church, 805 W. Bartlett Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Virginia C. Mullin

Virginia C. Mullin, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Staten Island, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband Roger; four daughters, Karen Motola of Las Vegas, Joyce Fitzgibbon of Wayne, N.J., Jayne Slyman of Gaston, S.C., and Nancy Curran of Horsehead, N.Y.; four sisters, Harriet Parks, Eleanor Johnson, and Carol Dudik, all of Chatham, Mass., and Pearl Sanzone of Staten Island; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Pamela Pacheco

Pamela Pacheco, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born March 17, 1954, in San Jose, Calif. A resident for 33 years, she was a clerical worker for a trucking firm.

She is survived by one son, Scott M. Gilson; her mother, Peggy Pacheco; her father, Ernest Pacheco; one sister, Sheri Cercantes; two brothers, Bryan Pacheco and Gary Pacheco; and two grandchildren, all of Las Vegas.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Angelo J. Parla, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 21, 1923, in New York City. A resident for seven years, he was a retired aircraft mechanic and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Richard Parla, Michael Parla and Angelo Parla Jr.; one brother, Frank Parla; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Debra Peltier

Debra Peltier, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born June 12, 1957, in Kingman, Ariz. A resident for 10 years, she was a hairdresser for five years.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; four sons, Dexter Peltier, Tyler Peltier, Dylan Peltier and Brandon Peltier, her mother, Fable Silverberg, and two brothers, Tim Silverberg and Manny Silverberg, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Evelyn Sandoval

Evelyn Sandoval, 81, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. She was born March 1, 1921, in Berwin, Colo. A resident for six years, she was a retired microbiologist.

She is survived by three sisters, Betty Senia of Henderson, Alice Baca of Littleton, Colo., and Mildred Ortega of Las Vegas.

Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Fred Clyde Saunders

Fred Clyde Saunders, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1935, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 33 years, he was a mail handler for a mail order pharmacy and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, Clyde Saunders, Curtis Saunders and Jared Saunders, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Gary Saunders of Seattle, Charles Saunders of Clinton, Utah, and Douglas Saunders of Ogden; four sisters, June Ririe of Las Vegas, Faye Morros of Ogden, Dorothy Vance of Kerns, Utah, and Joy Smith of South Ogden; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Additional visitaiton is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the Relief Society Room of the LDS Bonanza Chapel. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Doris E. Thayer

Doris E. Thayer, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 9, 1908, in Ithaca, N.Y. A resident for 37 years, she was a legal secretary.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Thayer of Las Vegas and John R. Thayer of Spencer, N.Y.; two daughters, Jean Sistek of Las Vegas, and Joyce Murphy of York, Pa.; her twin sister, Ruth Curran of Bradenton, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday with services following in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Marilyn D. Wahlstrom

Marilyn D. Wahlstrom, 76, of Las Vegas died July 25 in a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1926, in Roman, N.Y. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired administrative assistant for a construction company.

She is survived by one son, Joseph Agaciewski of Henderson; two daughters, Tammy Heiner of Las Vegas and Beth Galasco of Palisades, Colo.; one brother, Jerry Richmond of Adams Center, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
