Henderson to host senior health fair
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a senior health and wellness fair for ages 50 and older from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Henderson Senior Center, 27 E. Texas Ave.
The fair is part of the department's Hearts 'n Parks program, which is designed to promote heart-healthy living.
The fair will include booths and information resources on a variety of topics, including health, fitness, social services, and education. All of the information will be geared toward the needs of seniors.
Admission is free and sack lunches will be available for $2. For more information, call 565-6990.
Seminar to address small businesses
The North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce will present a seminar, "Legal & Liability Issues when Dealing with Employees," from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nevada State Bank, 3688 S. Jones Blvd.
The seminar will address many of the challenges confronting small businesses that have little or no access to professional human resource advice. Cost is $25 for members and Southern Nevada Human Resource Association members, both with reservations; and $30 at the door.

Filipino group will host candidate program
The National Federation of Filipino American Association will host the program "Get to Know the Candidates" from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at China Town Plaza, second floor, 4255 Spring Mountain Road.
The event, themed "Filipino Americans: Making Our Numbers Count," will bring together Filipino Americans in Nevada. The event will also offer refreshments and entertainment.

Island Tyme will play park series
The Twilight in the Park concert series will conclude with the group Island Tyme at 8 p.m. Saturday at Sonata Park, 1550 Seven Hills Drive.
The concert series is designed to acquaint residents with a variety of musical genres while introducing them to neighborhood parks.
Admission for the performance is free. Convenient off-site parking will be provided along with free shuttle service to the park. For more information, call 565-2367.
Public can bowl for KIDS benefit
Child Focus Inc. will present Child Focus Cosmic Bowl 2002, a bowling event at 2 p.m. Saturday in Texas Station's Bowling Center, to raise money for the organization's program KIDS (Keeping Intact Displaced Siblings.)
The new nonprofit organization is the first program in Nevada to be approved to house foster children of all ages and all levels of care. One of KIDS' priorities is to maintain one placement throughout a child's timea way from home.
