Ads promote computerized pet licensing

Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002 | 8:25 a.m.

A new advertising campaign featuring comedian Rita Rudner aims to encourage pet owners to license their pets through a new computer program.

The program links the city of Las Vegas with The Animal Foundation to allow pets to be more easily united with their owners.

Foundation President Mary Herro will move from overseeing the day-to-day operations of the foundation's Lied Animal Shelter to run the new licensing program.

Funds raised by the program will go toward Phase II of the proposed expansion to The Animal Foundation facilities, which include a state-of-the-art adoption center and expanded care facility.

The cost of an animal license is $15 per pet and can be purchased at the Lied Animal Shelter, 655 Mojave Road. For more information, call 384-3333 or visit www.animalfoundation.com.
