Sylvia Barron
Sylvia Barron, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Hawaii. A resident for 18 years, she was a retired entertainer who performed at the Thunderbird hotel for several years, Lake Tahoe and Reno.
She is survived by one son, Dusty Barron Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rose Linder of Arlington, Texas; several brothers and sisters; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Arthur Paul Bell
Arthur Paul Bell, 79, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born March 21, 1923, in Middletown, Ohio. A resident for nine years, he was a retired automobile mechanic and U.S. Postal Service employee, a World War II Army veteran, past master of Triedstone Lodge 83, Prince Hall F&AM, member of American Temple 107 AEA on MS and Miami Consistory 26 of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Georgianna; and two nieces, Deborah Bell and Traci Ross of Middletown.
Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.
Beryl Lujean Bertrand
Beryl Lujean Bertrand, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born May 5, 1926, in Washington. A resident for three years, she was a retired receptionist for Orange County, Texas, and a member of the Salvation Army for 40 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Ida Mettlen and Virginia Sietz of Beaumont, Texas.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private services.
Morris G. Cantwell
Morris G. Cantwell, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 15, 1946, in Denver. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired food service employee and was disabled.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; two sons, Vernon Cantwell and Charles Cantwell, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Samuel B. Culbertson
Samuel B. Culbertson, 83, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 31, 1919, in Greeley, Iowa. A resident for one year, he was a retired aviation field representative and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Dave Culbertson of Cypress, Calif., and Scott Culbertson of Temecula, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Roy D. Doig
Roy D. Doig, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1920, in Townsend, Mont. A resident for 47 years, he was the head of the slots department at the Showboat, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Elks, Shriners and Legion of Honor.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Elizabeth; one son, Roy D. Doig Jr. of Mesa, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Dr. David Hirsh
Dr. David Hirsh, 48, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1953, in Cleveland. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a retired physician.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Perez-Hirsh; his parents, Bernice and Jack Hirsh; and two sisters, Paula Hirsh of Henderson and Ava Hirsh-Bolen of Lake Oswego, Ore.
King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.
Patricia Flame Jameson
Patricia Flame Jameson, 45, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 29, 1956, in Ohio. A resident for many years, she was a dealer.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Vic Jameson, and one son, Brody Jameson, both of Mississippi; her mother, Lorraine C. Jameson, and one brother, Jack McCellan, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mae E. Kinney
Mae E. Kinney, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 25, 1924, in New York City. A resident for 16 years, she was a medical assistant.
She is survived by her husband, Russell A.; one daughter, Mary Louise Cinquemani of Texas; two sons, Russell A. Kinney of Henderson and David G. Kinney of Connecticut; and one brother, Frank Thayer of Hawaii.
Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Graveside services will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Jeanette Klein
Jeanette Klein, 69, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born June 8, 1933, in New York City. A resident for five years, she was a retired public school aide for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Michele Crawford of Las Vegas; her mother, Mary Irizarry of New York City; two brothers, Frank and John, and three sisters, Rosilyn, Frances and Marion, all of New York.
A memorial service will be held in New York. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Edith Margone
Edith Margone, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 27, 1919, in New York City. A resident for seven years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.
She is survived by one daughter, Arlene Santer of Las Vegas; one son, Joseph Margone of Plantation, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Lewis Markwell
Lewis Markwell, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 26, 1923, in Flemingsburg, Ky. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired film salesman and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lyn Pilkington.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; one daughter, Sunny Lee Sanders of Modesto, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Rita Marie McKernan
Rita Marie McKernan, 38, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born July 8, 1964, in Orange, Calif. A resident for 10 years, she was a flight attendant.
She is survived by her companion, Steven Chavira, and two daughters, Rachelle McKernan and Shannon McKernan, all of Henderson; her father, Robert Reyes of California; her mother and stepfather, Betty and Gene Stricklin of Barstow, Calif.; one sister, Celeste Hampton of Texas; and one brother, Michael Reyes of Italy.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Angelina Moreno
Angelina Moreno, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Puerto Rico. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker and a foster mother for more than 35 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Moreno and Cathy Moreno, and three sons, Israel "Tony" Moreno Jr., David Moreno and Julio Moreno, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, America Soto and Virginia Soto, and one brother, Antonio Soto, all of Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Ruth A. Motto
Ruth A. Motto, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 24, 1939, in Whitestone, N.Y. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Frank J. Sr.; two sons, Frank J. Motto Jr. of North Las Vegas and Christopher M. Motto of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lorraine K. Fletcher of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Charles George Neeld
Charles George Neeld, 67, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Denver. A resident for 43 years, he was an electronics engineer for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Jean; two daughters, Charlene Neeld Scuderi and Athylie Ray, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 2-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
Michael F. O'Brien Jr.
Michael F. O'Brien Jr., 34, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A telemarketer, he was born Jan. 9, 1968, in Massachusetts.
He is survived by his parents, Gail and Michael F. O'Brien of Massachusetts.

Tyler J. Shaull
Tyler J. Shaull, 31, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1971, in Marengo, Iowa. A resident for three years, he was a clothing manager and a member of Miran.
He is survived by his wife, Brooke; his parents, Linda and David Shaull; and three brothers, Anthony A. Shaull of Columbus, Ind., Timothy Shaull of Farmington, N.M., and Thomas Shaull of Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 5701 N. Jones Blvd.
Edward E. Shugarts
Edward E. Shugarts, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 5, 1915, in DuBois, Pa. A resident for six years, he was a retired assembly worker for an aircraft manufacturer and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one son-in-law, Kenneth Cole, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Clark, both of Las Vegas; one grandson, Jeff Cole of Rochester, Ill.; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sam Solomon, 94, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1907, in Cleveland. A resident for 52 years, he was a casino executive.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one stepson, Donald Scott Atchison; and one grandson.

George I. Steinke
George I. Steinke, 97, of Boulder City died Friday in Boulder City. He was born Aug. 16, 1904, in Plainview, Minn. A resident for 10 years, he was a pioneer in the aviation and gold mining industries in Kingman, Ariz., and was an inductee in the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame.
He is survived by one son, Shawn H. Steinke of Boulder City, Karen Cooper of Pound Ridge, N.Y., and Linda Eaton of Kodiak, Alaska; his companion, Margaret Meyers of Boulder City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Faith Christian Church, 1100 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
Harriet M. Stieneke
Harriet M. Stieneke, 83, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for seven years, she was a retired railroad crew dispatcher.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Kiel of North Las Vegas and Karen J. Grasch of Chesterton, Ind.; one son, James P. McNulty of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
