Power wheelchairs are available

The Independent Seniors program makes available power wheelchairs to people 65 and older and to others permanently disabled, at no out-of-pocket cost to those who qualify.

The program makes people aware that there are assistance options that allow senior citizens and the permanently disabled to remain independent in their homes.

The power wheelchairs are provided to those who: cannot walk and self propel a manual wheelchair; can walk only 10 feet or less and are at risk of falling; or who meet additional guidelines of the program.

Call (800) 383-8435.
