Cecil D. Franklin

Cecil D. Franklin, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 5, 1928, in Cuero, Texas. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired Centel and Sprint installation, repair technician and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Price and Gayle C. Davis, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Vernon Franklin of San Diego and William Franklin of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will be private.

Marcella 'Marcy' Garrett

Marcella "Marcy" Garrett, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born July 24, 1934, in Fessenden, N.D. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired bank teller.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Laverne; five brothers, Wes Kautzman of Carson City, John Kautzman, Paul Kautzman and Jim Kautzman, all of Fargo, N.D., and Bob Kautzman of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and four sisters, Lydia Carr and Connie Brown, both of Carrington, N.D., Ann Myers of Lake Havasu City and Arlene Arteberry of Lake Shasta, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Harold R. Haney

Harold R. Haney, 89, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Los Angeles. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired automotive quality control manager and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one nephew, Gary Chimko of Wyomissing, Pa.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Ralph E. Hillman

Ralph E. Hillman, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Payson, Utah. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired vice president of a construction company, a longtime employee of Nevada Savings and Loan and retired from Primerit Bank, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, American Legion Post 8, Craig Ranch Golf Club and Stallion Mountain Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn G.; two sons, Roger Hillman and Gene Hillman, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Maryann Evens of Payson and Barbara Kron of Salt Lake City; one brother, Russell Hillman of Payson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Raymond J. Lesoganich

Raymond J. Lesoganich, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 5, 1941, in Youngstown, Ohio. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired salesman in the medical field.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen; one son, Jay Lesoganich, and two daughters, Dana Lesoganich and Tracy Lesoganich, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Esther Lesoganich, and one sister, Janice Lesoganich, both of Campbell, Ohio.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Alyssa Linn Nixon

Alyssa Linn Nixon, 12 days, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 2002, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Mindi Atkins, her father, Roger Nixon, and one brother, Andrew Nixon, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 5825 W. Eldora Ave. Graveside services will be 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Carola Ann Oakland

Carola Ann Oakland, 53, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1948, in California. A resident for seven years, she was a retired registered nurse, a Vietnam War Army nurse, a member of the Eastern Star Relief Society, American Red Cross and Boy Scouts of America.

She is survived by one son, Richard Oakland of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Thyza Lynn Quail of Las Vegas and Tow Cousins.

A private memorial service date is pending. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jane Papazis

Jane Papazis, 80, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Tom of Henderson and Angelos Papazis of San Diego; one daughter, Maria Papazis of Suffern, N.Y.; two sisters, Theresa Manning of Springfield, Va., and Helen Davis of San Francisco; one brother, George Vakalis of Keene, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles Paul Smith

Charles Paul Smith, 62, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born June 30, 1940, in Baltimore. A resident for 11 years, he was a police officer.

He is survived by his wife, Mindy; three daughters, Staci Maczis of Baltimore and Jessica Smith and Brittany Smith, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Charles P. Smith Jr. and Michael Smith, his mother, Rita Smith, and one brother, James Smith, all of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Chapel, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, followed by burial in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Gladys L. White

Gladys L. White, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 9, 1919, in Stockton, Kan. A resident for 62 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star and the Challenger Club.

She is survived by her husband, George; three daughters, Marsha Jenkins and Monta Diaz, both of Las Vegas, and Sharon Hanley of Pahrump; one son, Robert White of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
