Innovative Bank is top lender in express program

Innovative Bank has made 35 loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration through the SBAExpress program from Oct. 1 through June 30, the most of any bank in Nevada, the SBA reported.

Bank of America and Nevada State Bank each made 32 loans, Wells Fargo had 31, U.S. Bank, 29, and Silver State Bank, 17.

The SBAExpress and Community Express programs simplify the loan process by allowing lenders to use their own forms and processes to approve loans guaranteed by the SBA. The majority of loans made by Innovative Bank were for about $5,000.
