Police seek identity of body

Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 | 9:48 a.m.

Metro Police are trying to identify a woman whose body was found in the desert last week.

The woman's death is being investigated as a homicide, but a cause of death has not been determined, police said.

Several people who were riding dirt bikes in a desert area about half-mile east of Hollywood Boulevard and south of Vegas Valley Drive found the woman's partially clothed, decomposed body July 23, police said.

The body appeared to be that of a female adult 18 to 30 years old and 5 feet, 5 inches tall. She had pink polish on her fingernails and a tattoo of a red rose with green leaves above her left breast, police said.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Metro's homicide unit at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
