Letter: Sour grapes over Capstone

Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 | 8:45 a.m.

Regarding Fred Charette's July 25 letter, which criticized the accommodations afforded the military's top brass vs. those provided for the civilians who watched the Capstone military exhibition at Nellis Air Force Base:

Charette was fortunate to see the Capstone exercise, even if he did not get a padded chair for his tender butt. Sorry that he had to queue up with lower rank personnel.

Guess he should have had a limo at taxpayer expense; after all, he is now a civilian. As far as taxpayers, the military personnel do pay taxes. I did when I was in the service.

Charette must have hated being in the Navy.
