Nevada’s Butler named WAC baseball player of the week

RENO, Nev. AP) - Nevada third baseman Jacob Butler, who drove in nine runs with three doubles, a triple and two home runs last week, was named Monday the Western Athletic Conference baseball player of the week.
Butler, a freshman from Yelm, Wash., hit. 529 with a slugging percentage of 1.176 and scored six runs in four games last week for the Wolf Pack.
Butler went 3-for-4 with six RBI against San Francisco on Tuesday. He was a single away from hitting for the cycle. He was 3-for-4 against San Jose State on Friday then went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI on Saturday.
Also last week, Nevada senior shortstop Matt Maguire played in his 210th game for the Wolf Pack, moving into a tie for second place with Joe Inglett (1997 (2000)- for all-time games played at the school. Andy Dominique 1994 (97)- is the Wolf Pack career leader with 213 games played.
