Patricia Ann Abney

Patricia Ann Abney, 55, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 12, 1946, in Illinois. A resident for three months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Justice of Bullhead City; one son, George Justice of Gallup, N.M.; two sisters, Joyce Stewart of Bullhead City and Betty Norton of Alamogordo, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Donna Jean Bethel

Donna Jean Bethel, 66, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A data entry operator, she was born May 2, 1935, in Ohio.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Bethel and Douglas Dixon; two daughters, Deidre Steiert of Ohio and Cheryl Bethel of Nevada; her mother, Mary Thomas; her father, Zoa Bethel; one brother, Zoa Roy Bethel; one sister, Joann Mangrum of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Jack E. Butler

Jack E. Butler, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 4, 1929, in Burlington, Iowa. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired California correctional officer and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Cheri Moe of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Alene A. Hail

Alene A. Hail, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born June 11, 1914, in Crescent, Okla. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Rosebud Michener of Plano, Texas, and Lillian L. Guilliams of Las Vegas; two sons, Floyd Oliver Morgan of Farmington, N.M., and James H. Hix of Henderson; two sisters, Adline Myers of Lugoff, S.C., and Lola May Ayers of Oklahoma City; one brother, Durrell Craven of Tyrone, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Additional services and burial will be in Oklahoma.

Martha M. Hassler

Martha M. Hassler, 77, of Logandale died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Munich, Germany. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Esther Pierce of Logandale; two sisters, Gisela Becker and Marianne Baumann, both of Erding, Germany; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Nadine Hunter

Nadine Hunter, 81, of Henderson died Saturday in a local nursing center. She was born July 16, 1920, in Kansas City, Kan. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Victor H.; two daughters, Vicki Frei of Pine Valley, Utah, and Lenore Kaye of Albuquerque; one son, Alan Hunter of Henderson; one sister, Ruth Hunter of Independence, Mo.; one brother, David L. Phillips of Lakeview, Ark.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Zoma Loretta Young McGarry

Zoma Loretta Young McGarry, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Henderson. A resident for 11 years, she was born April 18, 1930, in Long Beach, Calif.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah McCoy of Henderson and Rebecca Parks of Clinton, Utah; two sons, Thomas Phelps of Las Vegas and Danny Phelps of Clearfield, Utah; three brothers, Rick Young of Bountiful, Utah, Kyle Young of Las Vegas and Lyle Young of Portland, Ore.; five sisters, Trudy Pappacostas and Aileen Bray, both of Las Vegas, Jean Glines of Salt Lake City, Sandy Lloyd of Sandy, Utah, and Sonia Ashworth of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS chapel at 1551 Galleria. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Effie L. Morgan

Effie L. Morgan, 93, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 16, 1908, in Alabama. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Marion Dee Lagrow of Henderson; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Alabama. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Arthur Ochman

Arthur Ochman, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Chicago. A resident for eight years, he was a retired paper salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel; three sons, Kenneth Ochman of Honolulu, Gary Ochman of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and Leslie Ochman of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one brother, Sam Ochman of Tucson; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Ermal Sims

Ermal Sims, 74, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Ardath; two sons, Thomas Sims and Timothy Sims, both of Arizona; three daughters, Beverely Snyder of Utah and Karen Woodhouse and Ardath Mason, both of Arizona; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Murray Skall

Murray Skall, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. A salesman, he was born June 28, 1933, in New York City.

He is survived by his wife, Ann.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

James C. Young

James C. Young, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Providence, Ky. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired sheet metal mechanic in the aviation industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie; one daughter, Judy Wohlgemuth of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow at noon Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
