Letter: Clinton’s Mideast efforts stymied

With the Mideast in turmoil and on the verge of a massive Islamic-Israeli confrontation, one wonders if it could have been different. I believe it could have been different if not for the well-documented conspiracy of the "rightists" to nail Bill Clinton.
Their incessant attacks on him had to have been a major distraction during his administration. Here was a president of the United States in which the rest of the world had the utmost respect for while this right-wing cabal began attacking him even before he became president.
The conspiracy continued to grow with their incessant investigation into a long-passed, failed "Whitewater" business deal. Followed by sex scandals (private relationships) created by gossip mongers and contrived entrapment for perjury by a special prosecutor (Ken Starr). To anyone such attacks would have to be a major distraction from their effort to solve major national and world problems. One wonders that if it were not for these distractions, could Bill Clinton brought to fruition the gains from Camp David and the Wye River agreements.
Just think how different the world would be today "if" he had succeeded.
