BASEBALL
Bishop Gorman 7, Bonanza 2: Russ Warthen and Dan Mangiapani homered during a six-run Gael sixth, and Paul Schmitt struck out 10 batters in a complete-game victory.
Mojave 6, Cheyenne 4: Mat Ellis went 2-for-3 and struck out eight batters in a complete-game win, and Octavio Luna went 2-for-4 with three runs scored for the Rattlers.
Coronado 8, Foothill 7: Chase Altemara tossed four strong innings in relief for the victory, and Chase Billington and Matt Sexton each knocked in two runs to lead the Cougars. Rick Cerrone homered and doubled for the Falcons.
Basic 8, Green Valley 2: Matt Elliott was 3-for-3 with a double and a home run, and went the distance for his fifth win of the year. Leland Montoya and Skyler Southwick also homered for the Wolves, while Eric Durante hit a two-run shot for the Gators.
Chaparral 9, Valley 3: Brandon Huff struck out 10 batters in a complete-game win, Dan Howard went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Owen VanNoy went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Cowboys.
Durango 15, Clark 0: Robbie Martinez tossed a five-inning no-hitter for the Trailblazers.
Las Vegas 7, Rancho 3: Troy Remer yielded six hits in a complete-game win and Justin Hicks had a two-run triple for the Wildcats.
SOFTBALL
Centennial 2, Palo Verde 0: Amy Sauer tossed a shutout and went 2-for-3 with an RBI double for the Bulldogs, who also got two hits and three stolen bases from Ashlee Dean.
Sierra Vista 18, Western 2: Jan Garis pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead the Lions. Margaret Gallia had an RBI double and scored a run for the Warriors.
Coronado 11, Foothill 4: Brittany Loisel went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored to lift the Cougars to victory.
Eldorado 15, Desert Pines 1: Stephanie Ollila fanned 14 batters in a five-inning complete-game and belted two two-run homers at the plate to lead the Sundevils.
Basic 5, Green Valley 4: Brittany Lorenzen went 3-for-3, hit a two-run homer and scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning for the Wolves. Teela Roybal finished 3-for-3 with two runs for the victors.
