Earl D. Adams

Earl D. Adams, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Indianapolis. A resident for many years, he was a retired Air Force senior master sergeant and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; three sons, Gary Adams of San Diego, Robert Adams of Sun Valley and Douglas Adams of Truckee, Calif.; one stepson, Michael Griffin of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Charles Adams, and one sister, Florence Metcalf, both of Indiana; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Edna H. Boyd

Edna H. Boyd, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Lake Orion, Mich. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Georgiana Abell of Las Vegas and Barbara Beil of Woodridge, Ill.; three sisters, Charlotte Schultz of Washington state, Mary Ellen Schram of Arkansas and Janet Sala of Florida; two brothers, Phillip Leonard of Michigan and John Leonard of Florida; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

May Carrer Burns

May Carrer Burns, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Chicago. A resident for 39 years, she was a business representative for Teamsters Local 995, a member of the American Business Women's Association and American Cancer Society.

She is survived by two stepsons, Richard Burns and Robert Burns, both of California; and one sister, Elvera Wilkinson of Fairless Hills, Pa.

Mass was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be in Los Angeles. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ross Carter

Ross Carter, 65, of Las Vegas died April 6 in Las Vegas. A resident for 27 years, she was born Oct. 29, 1936, in Michigan.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Myers; one brother, John Ross; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert Lee Cogar

Robert Lee Cogar, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Removal, W.Va. A resident for 30 years, he was a maintenance technician for Kerr-McGee Chemical in Henderson and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lela; three daughters, Pamela Cogar-Holtz of Henderson, Frances Cogar and Elizabeth Cogar, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Joseph Cogar of Gilroy, Calif., and Gerald Cogar of White Bear Lake, Minn.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., handled arrangements.

Freda Craden

Freda Craden, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 7, 1917, in New York. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Smith of Vista, Calif.; one sister, Sally Prince of Florida; and three grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial followed in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Connie Diebold

Connie Diebold, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 17, 1917, in Chicago. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Apel of Henderson; two sons, Bruce P. Diebold of Newport Beach, Calif., and Grant V. Diebold of Las Vegas; one sister, Christine Catanese of Chicago; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3:30-6:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

William Richard Dollinger

William Richard Dollinger, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Wisconsin. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired Air Force veteran and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Duga; one brother, Dennis; and one sister, Betty Ann Boldt.

Veronica P. Evenow

Veronica P. Evenow, 77, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born May 14, 1924, in Richardton, N.D. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired caregiver.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Jones of Chicago and William Jones of Las Vegas; two daughters, Veronica Fralick of North Las Vegas and Valerie Bradley of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.

Richard Leon Foy Jr., 55, of Las Vegas died March 30 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 7, 1946, in California. A resident for most of his life, he was an aircraft maintenance manager and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Paul Andrew Foy Sr.; and two sisters, Jeannie and Diana.

Doris Fujimoto, 86, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Honolulu. A resident for many years, she was a seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Okuda of Henderson.

Marshall Earl Hecker

Marshall Earl Hecker, 54, of Las Vegas died April 8 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Maywood, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired butcher, a World War II veteran and a member of the Food Workers Union.

He is survived by three daughters, Anne Toutant of Bruce, Wis., Nichole Pearson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Lyne Minzgher of Marysville, Wash.; three sisters, Margaret Gauci of California, Patricia Gustavson of New York City and Kathleen Dartsch of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.

Jean Hutsko, 73, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Detroit. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; two daughters, Lynn Wright of Henderson and Nora Waddle of Tempe, Ariz.; one son, Donald Hutsko of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Amelia Craft of Surprise, Ariz., and Sandra Reah of Phoenix; one brother, Frederick Ohmer of Roseville, Mich.; and one grandchild.

Ethel B. Junior, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Carthage, Ark. A resident for 52 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Alvin Junior of Perris, Calif., and Raymond Junior of Las Vegas; three daughters, Marie Lee of Los Angeles and Gloria James and Esther Junior, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lena Mary Daniels of Fordyce, Ark., and Arstella Junior of Las Vegas; one brother, Henry Sloan of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one daughter, Elvira Godek-Kiryluk of Chicago; and two sisters, Janina Majcher and Irena Romanowica, both of Poland.

She is survived by three sons, Sherman Lyons and Darrell Lyons, both of San Francisco, and Michael Lyons of Menlo Park, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Lyons of Menlo Park and Bertha Lyons of San Francisco; her mother, Beearmon Wiley, and one sister, Onita Dougherty, both of Las Vegas; and six brothers, David Wiley, Frank Wiley, Ronald Daugherty, Terry Wiley and Dexter Wiley, all of San Francisco, and Donald Dougherty.

Vonda J. Neff, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Beaver, Utah. A resident for 64 years, she was a homemaker.

Ervin C. 'Slim' Nielson

Ervin C. "Slim" Nielson, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 4, 1924, in Deseret, Utah. A resident for 50 years, he was a heavy equipment operator, a member of Teamsters Local 631, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elaine Broadhead-Nielson; two sons, Ted E. Nielson and Terry Lynn Nielson, and two daughters, Sandra Nielson-Hanes and Joyce Spangler, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Mary Lou Gardner of Las Vegas, Rae Lee of Salt Lake City and Delone Evans of Bozeman, Mont.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Thomas Philpott, 82, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1920, in Closter, N.J. A resident for nine years, he was a retired aircraft engineer and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; one daughter, Arlene Philpott of Pasadena, Calif.; three sisters, Edith Soeder of Hilton, N.Y., and Elizabeth Ambrose of Blacksburg, Va., and Marie Bevens of West Syracuse, N.Y.

Ruth Willard

Ruth Willard, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; five sons, Thomas Guzman and James Alexandre, both of Las Vegas, Luis Guzman of San Diego, Mike Guzman of St. George, Utah, and David Guzman of Ontario, Calif.; one daughter, Iris Hall, and one sister, Lydia Ruiz, both of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 6 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.
