Letter: Palestinians scream loudly, and world listens
Friday, April 19, 2002 | 5:01 a.m.
Rather than rewriting history as so many journalists are happy to do, let's look at the Israeli-"Palestinian" issue historically.
First, there never has been a country called Palestine, and therefore there cannot be "Palestinians." Second, most "Palestinians" were originally Jordanian or, as in the case of Yasser Arafat, Egyptian.
For many decades and through many wars, the Arab countries have tried to destroy Israel through the front door. After being miserably defeated over and over, they have now chosen to try and succeed at their task through the back door with suicide bombers and disinformation. This is a case of whoever screams the loudest for the longest time gets the world's attention.
For days the "Palestinians" have screamed massacre and the world has listened. It has been broadcast throughout the free world as if it is already a known fact.
Now that no mass graves, bodies or other signs have been found, there is a hush rather than a hue and cry. Again they have been caught lying to the world and the world allows it.
When it comes to treatment of other Arabs, moderate Arab countries have free reign. When it comes to any non-Arab country's treatment of Arabs, all the Arab countries (moderate or otherwise) stand together because to them it is a religious war, not a political war.
