Letter: Critics should look in mirror

Seems they want to run a "citizens' utility" that will be subject to the oversight of locally elected officials. They believe they can do a better, more efficient job than Nevada Power Co.
Let me make sure I understand this right. Are these the same locally elected officials who are responsible for the outrageous mismanagement of the Regional Justice Center?
According to recent news reports, the huge cost overruns, some say as high as $150 million, are "due in part to loose oversight by Clark County." Not only have costs skyrocketed, but the project is already 10 months behind schedule. But not to worry -- the county folks are conducting a five-year review of what went wrong!
These are some of the same people who loudly criticize Nevada Power. Let's see how they do when the next huge power crisis occurs. Let's remember that during last summer's "unprecedented and unimaginable" crisis, only a few Las Vegans lost power, and then only for less than 45 minutes.
