BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Durango def. Bishop Gorman, 15-12, 15-12, 10-15, 15-13: Ken Huffman and Matt Cloyes combined for 58 assists, Victor Bordinhao had 24 kills and six blocks, Neal Aboul-Hosn chipped in 13 kills and 10 blocks and Kris Stinett added 12 kills for the Blazers. The Gaels got 14 kills and seven digs from Michael Gilroy and 18 assists from Mike McKinney in the loss.
Basic def. Foothill, 15-1, 15-4, 17-16: Derek Jappe had 13 kills, Shaun Muaina added 12 kills and Chris Stolworthy dished out 33 assists and seven blocks for the Wolves.
Palo Verde def. Mojave, 15-7, 15-8, 14-16, 15-4: The Panthers got 55 assists and five blocks from Mike Chong and 10 kills and 10 blocks from Marcus Dixon, while Mark Jerome contributed 38 assists for the Rattlers.
BOYS SWIMMING
Basic 206, Cimarron-Memorial 58: Scott Yacono (200 free, 500 free), Kevin Maves (200 IM, 100 back) and Adam Gerth (50 free, 100 free) captured two events apiece to help the Wolves win 11 of 12 races.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Cimarron-Memorial 201, Basic 108: Lindsey Leeming (200 IM, 500 free) and Stephanie Smith (100 free, 100 back) both won two events to lead the Spartans to victory.
