Catching Up With: Randy Creighton

Where he is now: Pepperdine

Class: Sophomore

Sport: Golf

Currently: Creighton, a two-year letter winner for the Waves, placed fifth individually at this week's West Coast Conference championship with a two-day, 54-hole score of 22 (six-over), helping Pepperdine to its eighth league title in nine seasons. Last year's WCC Freshman of the Year, Creighton has averaged 73.04 strokes per round this season, third among Pepperdine golfers. He and his teammates will compete in the NCAA West Regional May 16-18 in Albuquerque.

Looking back: Southern Nevada's co-golfer of the year in 2000, Creighton finished his stellar prep career by helping the Trailblazers to their first 4A state title. He placed sixth individually at state and third at zone as a senior after coming in second at state as a junior in 1999.
