ATLANTIC CITY -- Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Inc. said Tuesday that the National Indian Gaming Commission granted it the right to manage the Trump 29 Casino in Southern California.

Trump Hotels, led by developer Donald Trump, will manage the casino under a five-year agreement with the owners, the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Luiseno Mission Indians, said John Burke, treasurer of the company. The casino is 140 miles east of Los Angeles in Coachella, Calif.

Trump Hotels is spending $60 million to expand the property with a 2,500-seat showroom, restaurant and food court. Trump Hotels also owns three casinos in Atlantic City, where it is based, including the Taj Mahal, and a riverboat casino in Indiana.
