Jermaine Dye went 2-for-5 during the first night of his triple-A rehab assignment, highlighting the Sacramento River Cats' 8-7, 13-inning Pacific Coast League victory over the Las Vegas 51s Tuesday night.
Dye, the Oakland outfielder who fractured his left fibia in Game 4 of last year's American League Championship Series against the Yankees, had a double and scored the River Cats' go-ahead run that gave Sacramento a brief 6-5 lead.
Sacramento scored the game-winning run in the home 13th on a throwing error by 51s third baseman Rick Bell.
Las Vegas DH Todd Greene was hit in the head with a pitch during the fourth inning. He left the game and his status for tonight's game has yet to be determined.
