Apartment fire victim dies

A man burned in an April 5 apartment kitchen fire died April 8 from his injuries, according to the coroner's office.
Karter F. Rowley, 40, was burned over 70 percent of his body during the fire April 5 in an apartment in the 700 block of Rock Springs Drive, near Washington Avenue and U.S. 95.
The fire in the kitchen was quickly put out. Two men were burned in the fire and taken to University Medical Center's burn unit. The severely burned man died at the hospital. The condition of the second man was not available this morning.
The fire was ruled accidental.
