Women attorneys to be auctioned in fund-raiser
Tuesday, April 16, 2002 | 8:39 a.m.
"Divas of Law," a fund-raiser for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, will feature a cocktail party and silent auction of single women attorneys at 5:30 p.m. April 19 at the Ghost Bar at the Palms.
Tickets are $40 in advance; $50 at the door. For information, call A.J. Kung at 792-7000.
IOF Foresters will match the amount raised at the event for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.
The nonprofit organization, established in 1999, hopes to secure land and funds to build a shelter for homeless youth. The partnership last year opened the first homeless youth drop-in center in the state and earlier this year implemented the Safe Place program in Las Vegas in conjunction with Terrible Herbst.
Under the program, teens can go to any Terrible Herbst location if they are in need of help and will be referred to the appropriate service or agency.
