Sex case sent to prosecutors
Henderson Police this morning submitted a case to prosecutors against a Catholic priest accused of molesting six teenage boys.
Prosecutors will review the case and determine what, if any, charges will be filed. Police submitted a case asking for several felony charges, including child abuse, coercion, use of a child in the production of pornography and open and gross lewdness with a child.
The Rev. Mark Roberts is accused of sexually assaulting the boys at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson. The families of the boys filed a civil lawsuit against the priest and the diocese in March.
Officials of the Diocese of Las Vegas say they contacted police as soon as they learned of the allegations. The diocese sent him to an undisclosed treatment facility.
