Prosecutors to review case against priest in Henderson

Henderson Police expect to submit a case to prosecutors next week against a Henderson Catholic priest accused of molesting six teenage boys.

Prosecutors will review the case and determine what, if any, charges will be filed. Police will submit a case asking for several felony charges including child abuse. The case is expected to be submitted Monday.

The Rev. Mark Roberts has been accused of sexually assaulting six teenage boys at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Henderson. The families of the boys filed a civil lawsuit against the priest and the diocese in March.

Las Vegas Diocese officials claim they contacted police as soon as they learned of the allegations.

The Rev. Bob Stoeckig said in a statement Thursday the diocese has been working closely with police and will continue to do so.
