Sketch of man is released
Henderson Police released a sketch of a man who sexually assaulted an elderly woman earlier this month at her Green Valley Parkway home.
The woman told police she answered her door about 7:30 p.m. April 1 and a man forced his way in. He sexually assaulted her and then stole money from her, police said.
The man spoke English with a Spanish accent. He was described as in his 40s, about 5 foot 3, weighing about 165 pounds with brown hair.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Henderson Police at 565-2009 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
Two teens charged in crime
Two teenagers were charged Wednesday in connection with the slaying of a 36-year-old Las Vegas man Monday.
Christopher Divich, 17, and Sean Hazlehurst, 16, were booked into the Clark County jail and charged as adults with murder, Metro Police said.
The pair are accused of being part of an altercation late Monday that led to the death of Timothy C. Herman. Jamie Hein, 21, was charged in the slaying Tuesday and is accused of stabbing Herman.
Herman was stabbed in the chest late Monday at a home on Altamira Road near Alta and Buffalo drives. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died about 12:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Gardner named to state post
A Las Vegas attorney has been named to head the criminal division in the state attorney general's office.
Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa said Wednesday she has selected Gerald Gardner to succeed David Sarnowski of Carson City as chief deputy attorney general in the Criminal Justice Division.
Gardner has been in private practice and prior to that was employed as a deputy district attorney in Clark County.
Sarnowski resigned to become executive director of the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline.
