The House of Representatives moved a proposed 2,880-acre shooting range in Clark County a step closer to reality Tuesday.
The House passed legislation, sponsored by Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev., to transfer Bureau of Land Management property to Clark County for use as a public shooting range.
Companion legislation has been introduced in the Senate by Sens. Harry Reid, Democratic majority whip, and John Ensign, a Republican.
Gibbons said he hopes the Senate will take action soon on the shooting range bill.
