Herrera cyber foe identifies himself

Tuesday, April 9, 2002 | 9:42 a.m.

A man whose anonymous website doggedly criticized congressional candidate Dario Herrera has come out from the shadows after he said he shut down the site after he was threatened.

The man known on the website as "Trixie," identified himself as Rodney Helm.

Helm is a Republican who was highly critical of the Clark County Commission for a 2000 zoning vote that allowed a Home Depot to be built near what was then his home.

Helm's website (www.darioslittleproblem.com) criticized Herrera -- a Democrat and chairman of the County Commission -- with allegations of sexual piccadillos and unethical actions in office.

Helm took all of the material off the site -- which had drawn national attention -- earlier this month after, he said, he was threatened into doing so.

Helm will be a guest on "Face to Face with Jon Ralston" on April 10. The show airs at 4:30, 5:30 and 8 p.m. on Las Vegas ONE, Cox cable channels 1 and 39.
