Senior Olympics fund-raiser planned

The second annual fund-raiser for the Las Vegas Branch of the Senior Olympics is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Texas Station on North Rancho Drive.

Billed as a musical extravaganza, "Pure Gold II" will feature singers, dancers and comedy acts.

The funds will help the Senior Olympics rent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas swimming pool and tennis courts for the event scheduled the last week in September, Olympics spokesman Don Von Kurtz said.

Donations are $10 at the door.

Von Kurtz, 75, said he won a bronze medal in the shooting event last year. He encourages anyone over the age of 65 to join in the event, which attracted 709 participants last year.
