Vegas-tinged ‘Under One Roof’ on hiatus

After airing only two episodes of "Under One Roof," UPN has put the family reality television show on hiatus, pulling two local families from their Friday-night limelight.
The Pagani family from Henderson and the Skofield family from Las Vegas were among the five families that were flown to Fiji last fall to compete against one another for a deed to a beach house that all five families shared during the competition.
The show debuted March 22 on UPN (Channel 25, Cox cable channel 14). The second episode aired March 29. It was the lead-in for "The Amazing Race," a reality show that UPN also pulled from its time slot, but is continuing to air on UPN's affiliate network CBS.
"Unfortunately, the show was not performing as we'd like," said Joanne Lowry, senior vice president of media relations at UPN in Los Angeles, referring to "Under One Roof."
"It has not been cancelled at this time," she added. "We're considering bringing it back in the summer."
Families that accrued any prizes during the competitions will be able to keep them, Lowry said. This includes the house built for the show. (Prizes have already been awarded. Viewers will learn which family won them if and when the show returns.)
Traditionally in reality programs, participants who have won any prizes during the taping don't receive them until the final episode is aired, Lowry said.
In this situation, she said, "Whoever is due a prize will get it regardless of its broadcasting."
