Town hall meeting planned
The public is invited to attend the Neighborhood Town Hall Meeting hosted by North Las Vegas Councilwoman Stephanie Smith from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Silver Mesa Recreation Center, Rooms, B and C, 4025 Allen Lane.
The meeting will include displays and presentations about current and upcoming projects, and representatives from several departments will be present to provide information on the master planned community on 1900 acres in the northwest, the Las Vegas Beltway, Craig Road widening, Silver Mesa pool grand opening, future parks, renovation of mature parks, and code enforcement.

Church presents unique picnic
Warm Springs Baptist Church, 2075 E. Warm Springs Road, will host a Classic Car Show at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, followed by an all church picnic at Discovery Park in Henderson.
The classic car display will feature all pre-1975 model cars that are owned by members of the church, and the picnic celebration will offer games, music and food.

Kids athletic program scheduled
"Go For It!" a program for children will be presented 10 a.m. Monday through April 10 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The show will feature laser lights to the beat of music, relay races through obstacle courses, giant video screens flashing information and questions, and inflatable sports equipment the size of small houses.
Special guests include Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, Paralympic champion Doug Heir, Ms. Olympia Cory Everson, Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Chandler and Columbia recording artist 3rd FAZE.
The road show has been traveling the country for the past six years as a free field trip program for kids. Real life sports heroes are brought face to face with children through interactive games.
Athletes will talk to the children about the importance of nutrition and injury prevention, as well as staying in school and away from drugs.

Black Mountain center hosts event
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a country fair for all ages from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.
The event will feature a variety of traditional country fair activities, including games, relay races and square dancing. Beverages and light snacks will be available for purchase.

"Healthy Relationships that Heal,"
a free seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road, will be for cancer patients, their friends and family, as part of the national Cancer Fighter series hosted by Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
