Currently: Esposito was named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week on Monday after striking out 17 batters in a complete-game win over Washington last Friday. Now 6-3 on the season, the former Cimarron standout leads the Sun Devils with a sparkling 2.53 ERA and has 58 strikeouts and just 14 walks to his credit in 57 innings pitched. After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2000, Esposito bounced back with a 5-2 record and a 4.06 ERA in his first full season with ASU.

Looking back: A dominating prep pitcher, Esposito went 18-3 over his final two high school seasons. As a senior, he finished 10-1 with a 0.71 ERA, leading the Spartans to the Southern Zone title and a state appearance and earning the Sun's 1999 State Player of the Year award. Esposito was selected by Cincinnati in the fifth round of the 1999 draft.
