Firefighters douse hot spots

Wednesday, April 3, 2002 | 10:09 a.m.

A wildland fire near Las Vegas Wash flared up again Monday afternoon, but Clark County firefighters doused the hotspots, fire department spokesman Bob Leinbach said.

Two or three small flareups occurred behind Sam Boyd Stadium at the east end of Russell Road, Leinbach said.

No people or structures were in danger, he said. A wildfire blazed through dry brush in and near the Las Vegas Wash on Friday and Saturday, burning about 200 acres.

Firefighters planned to watch the area overnight, Leinbach said.
